Qigong
Similar to yoga, Qigong is an ancient Asian movement practice, thousands of years old. Qi-gong ("energy work", "breath work", or "the achievement of air" in ancient Mandarin) was historically used both for treatment of ills, and as a martial arts warm-up, with some of the poses harkening in slow and graceful motion to their martial arts heritage. Medical Qigong refers to the use of movement forms to promote overall health and wellness. Following the foundation principles of Chinese medicine, Qigong movement patterns are based on the flow of body energy through meridian channels and the five elemental properties of energy (fire, earth, metal, water, wood). Qigong promotes overall health of mind and body, and is effective and accessible within a wide range of fitness levels. Graceful flowing movements of torso, arms, and legs combine with breathing techniques to refresh the flow of energy in the body and promote tranquility of mind. Modern scientific research has linked the practice of Qigong with the improvement of some measures associated with a wide range of both physical and mind-body illnesses, as understood by Western medicine.

Disclaimer
I am not a medical doctor and do not practice medicine. Through my acupressure, qigong, and movement
healing sessions, I assist people in correcting imbalances in the body's
natural energy, and in so doing may assist the body in its innate
healing ability. However, I do not diagnose, cure, heal, or treat disease or otherwise prescribe medication. I recommend that clients continue to see their regular medical doctors and follow their advice as appropriate, and incorporate my work into a holistic program as a complement to regular allopathic medicine. My professional mind-body wellness offerings, healing, and coaching, although based professionally in part on Traditional Chinese Medicine and western psychotherapeutic techniques, are not substitutes for conventional medical diagnosis or treatment for any medical or psychological condition. For such issues, you should seek the proper licensed physician or health-care professional. I do not make any promises, warranties or guarantees about results of my work or of acupressure, movement healing, fitness sessions, or any combination of the services I offer. My healing, wellness, and training sessions help many people, but like any modality it won't work for everyone.
