Energy Body-Work & Acupressure
Energy Body-work is a healing and wellness modality that is based on the flow, intensity, and quality of subtle energy - both internal and external to the discrete physical bounds of an individual's body. The quality and movement of a person's subtle energy is frequently a powerful reflection and indicator of mood, past experience, emotional holdings, physical health, and is in many ways as highly, and beautifully individual as each person is unique. The skilled practitioner assesses the flow and quality of the energy, and whether any blockages, concentrations or weaknesses exist.
Acupressure, acupuncture, and Reiki are just a few well-known examples of formalized healing bodywork modalities which focus on the body's energy systems.
Acupressure is an ancient, and well-respected Asian bodywork technique based on Chinese medical theory and the five elemental forms of energy (fire, earth, metal, water, wood). The practitioner uses gentle finger pressure on specific, prescribed points on the surface of the recipients body (acu-points). These acu-points are located along “flow lines” of energy (meridians) that correspond with functional pathways comprised of linked muscles, bones, organs, and fascia. Verbal cuing and breathwork combine with tactile skill to release chronic tension and balance body ki (qi, ch’i, energy).
Acu-points are localized areas with measurably greater electrical conductivity, and are also utilized by acupuncture. The stimulation of these acu-points can reduce pain and stress by directly relaxing muscular tension, balancing ki, and stimulating endorphins. Acupressure gently promotes a pleasant & healthy body-mind balance, in which awareness can move out of the analytical mind and into the body… where holistic healing and guidance can be accessed.
Acupressure sessions are given on a professional massage table in a peaceful and quiet environment. Recipients wear comfortable clothing.

I am not a medical doctor and do not practice medicine. Through my acupressure, qigong, and movement
healing sessions, I assist people in correcting imbalances in the body's
natural energy, and in so doing may assist the body in its innate
healing ability. However, I do not
diagnose, cure, heal, or treat disease or otherwise prescribe
medication. I recommend that clients continue to see their regular
medical doctors and follow their advice as appropriate, and incorporate
my work into a holistic program as a complement to regular allopathic
medicine. My professional mind-body wellness offerings, healing, and
coaching, although based professionally in part on Traditional Chinese
Medicine and western psychotherapeutic techniques, are not substitutes
for conventional medical diagnosis or treatment for any medical or
psychological condition. For such issues, you should seek the proper
licensed physician or health-care professional. I do not make any
promises, warranties or guarantees about results of my work or of
acupressure, movement healing, fitness sessions, or any combination of
the services I offer. My healing, wellness, and training sessions help
many people, but like any modality it won't work for everyone.
